Christian Staggs is a multidisciplinary artist working across graphic novels, illustration, and fine art. He studied printmaking and holds degrees in both fine art and economics, combining technical skill with critical thinking to explore themes of power, myth, and the human condition.
His visual storytelling builds on layered linework, textured surfaces, and a mixed-media process inspired by intaglio printing. His graphic novels focus on the interplay between psychological and societal systems, highlighting how power structures often reflect one another across different scales.
Christian draws influence from Lone Wolf and Cub, Edward Gorey, João Ruas, Rael Lyra, and Hayao Miyazaki. His style is detailed, surreal, and emotionally grounded. He has illustrated for Rob Kuntz’s Into the Wild Blue Yonder, collaborated with muralist Lucas Rise, and exhibited in several galleries in San Miguel de Allende.
Outside the studio, Christian enjoys sailing mountain lakes, playing bass, sipping tea, and spending time with his cat.
